Meet our School Administrators

Lori Meyers
Lori Meyers as the new principal of Midway Elementary School. With 21 years of education experience, Meyers joined the Midway Elementary staff as a first and second grade teacher last year when her family relocated to Westville, SC.
"I'm incredibly honored and excited to serve as the new principal of Midway Elementary. Since joining the Midway family last year, I've been deeply impressed by the staff's unwavering commitment and the strong family ties that define our community. It's clear that Midway isn't just a school - it's a vital hub for this special area. I'm excited to collaborate with our students, staff, families, and the broader community to foster an environment where everyone feels supported and connected, ensuring our children experience meaningful growth and reach their full potential,” says Meyers.
She began her education career in Lexington County School District One as a second grade teacher at Red Bank Elementary in 2004. In 2008, Meyers transferred to Saxe Gotha Elementary, where she taught first grade. She moved to Meadow Glen Elementary when the school opened in 2011 to teach first grade, where she was named the Teacher of the Year in 2012. In 2016, she became the school’s digital learning coach and the school’s literacy coach in 2017.
In 2018, Meyers was promoted to assistant principal at her school, where she served until 2022. She was named the principal of Lexington Elementary School in 2022, where she served until she joined the Kershaw County School District family in 2024.
Meyers earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration (1997) and in early childhood education (2004), as well as a Master of Education in divergent learning from Columbia College. She also received a Master of Education in educational administration from University of South Carolina. She has also completed doctoral work towards a Doctorate of Curriculum and Instruction at USC.
Meyers is a member of the Palmetto State Teachers Association and the South Carolina Early Childhood Association.
Meyers and her fiancé, Dexter Bassard, moved to Kershaw County in 2024 to fulfill her childhood dream of living on a farm. They have a small horse farm in Westville. Her son, Vernon, is a product of Lexington One schools and is a CNC Machinist at Husqvarna.

Mrs. Kimm McDonald
I am so proud to be back in Kershaw County School District where my dad and grandparents were born and raised! I am a passionate educator who has been in the field of education for 25 years. I was a third,fourth and fifth grade teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Administrator for two years, and an Assistant Principal for two years.I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I have a Masters from AIU in Elementary Ed./Instructional Technology. I also have my ED.S from Capella University in Educational Leadership.
I am passionate about Education. I have been Teacher of the Year six times. I have provided staff development to teachers across the state including presenting at Magnet School Conferences, Stem School Conferences, Avid Conferences, Mastery Connect Conferences, Social Studies State Conferences, and many more. I love spending time with my family and friends. I love to travel, play the piano, write poetry, work with my wedding rental business, cook, and work in my garden and yard at home.
I am a veteran Junior Beta Club Sponsor and believe that ALL children can learn when given the right support. My mission is to inspire every child to believe that Knowledge Is Power!!! It is important that children are taught how to be 21st Century learners in a world where they can be successful both socially and academically.
