Lori Meyers serves as the principal of Midway Elementary School, bringing 23 years of dedicated experience in education to the role. Meyers initially joined the Midway Elementary staff as a first and second grade teacher when her family relocated to Westville, SC.

I am thrilled to keep collaborating with our students, staff, families, and the broader community to foster a space where everyone feels supported and connected, ensuring our children experience meaningful growth and reach their full potential."  

Professional Journey

Meyers began her education career in Lexington County School District One as a second-grade teacher at Red Bank Elementary in 2004. In 2008, she transferred to Saxe Gotha Elementary to teach first grade. She then moved to Meadow Glen Elementary when the school opened in 2011, where she taught first grade and was named the Teacher of the Year in 2012. Recognizing her leadership and expertise, the school appointed her as the digital learning coach in 2016 and the literacy coach in 2017.

In 2018, Meyers was promoted to assistant principal at Meadow Glen Elementary, serving in that role until 2022. She was then named the principal of Lexington Elementary School in 2022, where she served until joining the Kershaw County School District family in 2024.

Education & Professional Affiliations

Meyers has a robust academic background, holding multiple degrees:

• Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (1997) – Columbia College
• Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (2004) – Columbia College
• Master of Education in Divergent Learning – Columbia College
• Master of Education in Educational Administration – University of South Carolina

Additionally, she has completed doctoral coursework toward a Doctorate of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of South Carolina. She is an active member of both the Palmetto State Teachers Association and the South Carolina Early Childhood Association.

Personal Life

Meyers moved to Kershaw County to fulfill her childhood dream of living on a farm, and she currently resides on a small horse farm in Westville. Her family in South Carolina includes her son, Vernon, who is a product of Lexington One schools and now works as a CNC Machinist at Husqvarna, alongside all of her beloved animal friends.

Reagan Payseur will serve as the new assistant principal of Midway Elementary School.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff at Midway Elementary. The momentum already at Midway provides a strong foundation to build on, and I look forward to supporting a learning environment where every child feels happy, valued, and successful,” says Payseur. 

Payseur joined the district in 2019 as a sixth and seventh grade English language arts teacher at Camden Middle, where she currently serves. She held leadership positions, as the ELA Department Chair and handled phone and computer discipline referrals. She previously taught sixth grade at Muller Road Middle School. From 2021-2024, she assisted Camden Middle as they transitioned to Canvas as the technology specialist. She completed Kershaw County School District’s Developing Administrators Program in 2025.

She received a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Clemson University. 

She is a member of Palmetto State Teachers Association and South Carolina Association For Middle Level Education (SCAMLE). This year she served as the Head Coach for the Camden High Girls and Boys Tennis Teams.

Payseur lives in Camden with her husband, Dwight, and their daughter, Lexi. She is also the proud mother of three adult children and their spouses, “Grammy” to three grandchildren, and dog mom to Liam and Beasley.
